IMPORTANT FLU INFORMATION
This is Principal Mike Spelber. We have confirmed that there is a cluster of students within one of our classrooms that have exhibited symptoms of the flu. A cluster refers to 5 or more affected students. While all cluster cases have not been confirmed as the H1N1 virus, it is likely that some may be. We are working with the Orange County Health Department to track cases, take precautions, and communicate with our parents and students about safer health practices during the flu season.
At this time, school is still in session and we encourage parents to continue to send healthy students to class. If you have children who are sick, please keep them at home. Children who are sick should continue to stay home until they are fever free, without medication, for 24 hours and are no longer presenting symptoms of illness.
Information regarding the H1N1 virus can be found at our district’s website at www.capousd.org under the Health Support Quick Link.
By working together, we can minimize the spread of the flu and the impact to our families. Thank you for your assistance.
